One of the sweetest ways to add love and charm to your home décor is through text art signs. My favorite source is Fearfully Made Creations. Every single sign is written freehand by master calligrapher Ashley Robustelli.

Owner/entrepreneur Ashley is based in Central Texas between Waco and Austin. Every part of the process of sign creation is done by her own hands. Ashley builds each sign, including the frame, and paints it with her beautiful freehand calligraphy. She never uses stencils, vinyl, or fonts.
Fearfully Made got its name from Psalm 139:14, “I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; your works are wonderful, I know that full well.”
“Everything I have, I owe to God. When I was struggling to find a job, I felt His calling to start this business. And when it was time to come up with a business name, Fearfully Made Creations immediately popped into my head. That was all God – I have no doubt. He put me on this path for a reason! Everything I do, I do for Him.”

Ashely started her custom sign business out of necessity. I will let her share how it all started…
“My story is bittersweet! I graduated with a marketing degree from Texas A&M and married my husband shortly after. He was active duty in the Marine Corps and stationed in Arizona, so I moved out there with him. We lived in a small town in the middle of the desert where it’s all about ‘who you know.’ I was excited to begin my career path and eager to find a job, but after applying to 15-20 jobs, I never heard back from a single one. Not even for an interview! I was extremely discouraged but needed an income. So, I decided to get crafty and start an Etsy shop to hold me over until I could find a job. My Etsy shop took off quickly, and shortly after I decided I didn’t need to look for a job any longer. And I never looked back!”

Incredibly, Ashley taught herself how to do calligraphy. “I’m self-taught. No classes, no books, just a pen and some paper. It took several years for it to look as it does now. But practice makes perfect! So that is my tip: practice, practice, practice!”

Fearfully Made has signs for every season and occasion, along with signs for every room in your home. You can custom order items to have a one-of-a-kind piece with a special meaning for yourself or someone you love.

Many of her signs are also a fun way to add whimsy to your home, and perfect for home staging! See my Home Staging Guide.

In addition to signs, Ashley designs lazy susan trays, doormats, digital art, and pantry labels.

She has had the honor to have three of her pieces reproduced and sold by Hobby Lobby! “I have a publisher for my art, and that publisher sells to them. Big box stores like Hobby Lobby do not work with small shops directly – they purchase from wholesalers.” But wow, what an unbelievable opportunity to be in a major home décor store.

When you are a creatively inspired person like Ashley, you never run out of ideas for new signs. She gets inspired by many things including fabric, phrases, and apparel.

Her business began on Etsy, and you can still find her creations there. You can also order directly from her website, Fearfully Made Creations.

For small business entrepreneurs she does recommend Etsy for anyone starting out. “Building your own website can be overwhelming, but Etsy is structured for an easy beginner’s setup. It will expose your items to customers from all over the world.”
You can even learn from Ashley with her “Guide to Calligraphy & Design”.

I encourage you to support Ashely and her incredible woman-owned business. Fearfully Made Creations will turn your house into a home filled with love, inspiration, and whimsy.

You can follow Fearfully Made on Instagram, Facebook, and Pinterest. Thank you Ashley for sharing your incredible gift with the world. You are all together adorable, and all together brave!
