Welcome to Buffie’s Home Decorating!
I’m honored you stopped by. Helping amazing women who might feel overwhelmed by the decorating process is my passion. Are you overwhelmed by the thought of decorating?
My home wasn't always so lovely. But I realized if I didn't change, my family was going to suffer the consequences. I did change, and as a result have helped lots of women make their homes lovely too.
The good news is YOU CAN have a lovely home, and my decorating guides will help you every step of the way! Your family can experience the joy and peace of living in a lovely home. You don’t have to be rich, only willing to go through my 7 steps.
A little about me…
The first question I always get asked, “Is Buffie your real name?” Yes, it is. Really. There was a little American TV show in the late 1960s called Family Affair. It was one of those sugary-sweet family shows like Andy Griffin and Leave it to Beaver.
I was named after the little twin sister, Buffy. Yes, I too, had a Mrs. Beasley doll like she did. Kids on the school bus would ask about Buffy’s twin brother, “Where’s Jody?”
I wished I could change my name, but that would only hurt my sweet mom’s feelings so I came to accept it.
As a young girl, I loved organizing, decorating and cooking. I read the Betty Crocker cookbook cover-to-cover at least 20 times. I decorated my house. Then, I would decorate my friends' houses, or imagine in my mind how I would if I could.
I spent my summers eating my grandma’s tuna fish sandwiches on Wonder bread and watching PBS. I was mesmerized by Bob’s Villa’s This Old House and Julia Child’s The French Chef. I dreamed of winning the showcase on The Price is Right and being friends with the Brady girls on The Brady Bunch. Life was simple and uncluttered.
Growing Up in Bentonville, Arkansas with Sam Walton
As a child of the 1970s and 80s, I grew up in the quaint town of Bentonville, Arkansas. I witnessed the growth of America’s largest retailer. Walmart founder, Sam Walton, was a pioneer and became a billionaire. He was the richest person in the US during that time, long before Bill Gates, Steve Jobs or Jeff Bezos.
My mom worked for him for 20 years, and I worked at Walmart’s Corporate Office as a teenager. I loved Mr. Sam – his humility, his drive and his love for the customer and his associates. Read Mr. Sam's book here.
When I graduated from Bentonville High School, I was completely honored to receive the Walton Foundation Scholarship. Mr. Sam gave me my start by helping me go to college.
I majored in Marketing because I wanted to own my own travel agency. During that time, a little thing called the internet took off. Travel agencies closed. I rolled with the flow and switched my career to online marketing. If you can’t beat `em, join `em. I graduated from Harding University and was awarded Marketing Student of the Year.
Marriage, Decorating & Music City
Somewhere between college and marriage to my best friend, Chuck, we moved to Nashville for music, built our first home, and God blessed us with three incredible children. My life was full. I finally had a real home of my own to decorate.
I was armed with Martha Stewart’s book Entertaining (1998 ed.) and a fabulous new cookbook by Ina Garten – The Barefoot Contessa Cookbook.
Little did I know, those two women were about to inspire a new vision for what my home could be. My quest was to mix beauty and function, along with organization and hospitality.
Over 20 years later, my style has evolved. It is a combination of French country mixed with a touch of glam. I love flowers, the color pink and simplicity. I said “au revoir” to wallpaper years ago and “bonjour” to all things lovely.
I have a love affair with Wayfair, Hobby Lobby, HGTV, Joanna Gaines and Marie Kondo.
I don’t love clutter, litter, or slow Wi-Fi.
I’m honored to live with three handsome men, my husband, Chuck and our two teenage sons, Brandon and Baron. Our beautiful daughter, Brittany, is now married and she and her dashing husband, Damian, and we have one beautiful granddaughter, Belle. We also enjoy our rambunctious cat, Duchess We are extremely blessed and grateful for what God has given.
Our family founded Lovely Franklin, a business dedicated to sharing the backstories of historic Franklin's most charming people and places.

But my greatest honor is when friends have asked me to decorate their homes. There is nothing more personal than someone’s home. I realized I had a responsibility to use my gift wisely and humbly.
I became a professional home stager. Then I realized, other moms and families beyond Nashville needed help too.
