Dressing up your dining table with a Christmas centerpiece is one of the easiest ways to decorate your lovely home the entire month of December. A beautiful holiday tablescape is a gift you can give your family.
You will be so happy every time you enter your home. Pretty Christmas decor is a gift you give yourself and everyone who enters your home over the holidays.
Easy & Elegant Christmas Tablescapes
It’s super easy and super elegant. You can create this centerpiece on any table shape, rectangular, square, or round. Let me show you how in just five easy steps. Follow along in my video below, or keep reading this post.
Step 1: Select Your Garland

My favorite Christmas home decor store is Hobby Lobby. They have the best selection of Christmas decorating ideas at a great price. Many of the items I got at 50% off or used the app for the 40% coupon code.
I chose this Ornament and Pinecone Pine Garland from Hobby Lobby. It’s six feet long. When you start with a pre-decorated garland, it makes process of decorating your mantel much easier. There are many designs to choose from including pre-lit garlands for greater ambiance at night.
Make sure to stretch the garland out nice and straight. For round or square tables, you can wrap the garland in a circular shape. Make sure to fluff all the branches so they are spread out evenly.
Step 2: Add the Picks

Now it’s time to add more texture and interest to your garland. It’s so easy to do with picks. These can be found in the Christmas decor department. All of my picks are from Hobby Lobby.
I love adding two kinds of sparkly eucalyptus. Both large eucalyptus and small picks make perfect greenery for holiday decor. Make sure you balance each side. So what you add to one, I usually add the same to the other side in the same location.
Some of my favorite picks are these pearl white berry picks that add a lot of height. They are pretty and inexpensive, so I use them in my mantel decor, and my holiday centerpiece and Christmas tree.
You have two options for decorating your garland. You can use picks or ornaments, or both. I love using picks that look like ornaments like these sparkly silver glitter ball picks and champagne glitter ball picks.
Now pick out your favorite picks, and tuck them!
Step 3: Add the Pinecones
Since we are using faux pine garland, I love to add an element of an actual pine tree. That is why, it’s really pretty to incorporate actual pinecones. The garland I selected had some small glittery pinecones.
So, I beefed it up with this pack of 3 flocked pinecones from Hobby Lobby. I mixed it up by adding one on one side, and two on the other.
Step 4: Add the Candles

Now for light, add some gorgeous candles. These mercury candle holder are super elegant. Here is another beautiful mercury glass candle holder set on Amazon.
Step 5: Add a Touch of Whimsy

Finally, all great home decor should have a touch of whimsy. Something to make you smile. Add a little glee to your Christmas centerpiece with this sweet clip-on bird from Hobby Lobby.
You can use any kind of whimsy you love. From adorable woodland creatures to these glitter trees, anything that brings joy.
So, it’s that easy to have a beautiful Christmas mantel.
